Saturday night (Mar. 28), Karrueche Tran’s emotional interview aired on Iyanla Vanzant’s Iyanla: Fix My Life. The 26-year-old model sat down with OWN’s life coach to tell her side of the story, opening up about Chris Brown fathering a child with another woman, why she stayed with Brown for so long, and her feelings behind Brown and Rihanna getting back together.
During the hour-long chat, Tran revealed that after four years with the troubled singer, she knows that he needs love to get back on the right track. There’s plenty to digest from her first interview since breaking up with him this month after hearing he had a daughter named Royalty. "Now that I’ve chosen a career — acting and modeling — which requires me to be in the limelight, it’s very important. One time, I went to an audition and I stated my name, and the lady was like, 'Oh, that name sounds really familiar. I've seen you on TMZ.' Her first perception of me was what she had heard."
2. She found out about Brown's daughter through social media.
"Honestly, through social media. He wanted to talk in person. Actually, at the moment that I found out, he was texting me saying, 'I need to talk to you in person.' Then I got online and I saw that."
3. She still has feelings for Brown.
"I still love him. I've tried to help him. Go to church, pray, yoga, meditate. If he wanted to change, we'd be in a better place. But that's the problem. He is damaged but… I'm damaged too."
