Kanye West has officially broken ties with his longtime agent Cara Lewis and CAA after being with the agency since 2012. According to The Wrap, 'Ye is moving on to UTA, which will handle all aspects of his management moving forward. The official reasoning for West's move is not known at this time, but according to the report, he felt CAA wasn't satisfying the needs of his career outside of touring. Another reason for the move is the potential that UTA offers with their new Fine Arts division, which is an area that West has increasingly been involved in throughout his career.

West and Lewis have been working together for years, and when Lewis made the move from WME to CAA in 2012, West followed along to the agency. CAA currently represents 50 Cent, Bruce Springsteen, Green Day, Miley Cyrus, and more, but 'Ye was undoubtedly one of the biggest stars on the roster. The timing of the move might seem odd, especially with Kanye working on his next album, So Help Me God, which is expected to drop in the coming months.

UPDATE: Kanye West's camp has issued a statement on leaving CAA and Cara Lewis. "Kanye West has the utmost respect for Cara Lewis, and has had a close working relationship with her for many years. The decision to change agencies is based on Kanye's continuing desire to diversify and search for new opportunities."
