Ohio-based artist tshawntrusst is just getting started; the 19-year-old Toledo MC was personally discovered by A-Trak earlier this year and is now gearing up to drop his debut mixtape on Fool's Gold in the near future. Today, he drops "I'm That Nigga," produced by Rvdical the Kid (Flow-Fi) and Chris McClenney (Soulection) on Fool's Gold.
"The song came out of nowhere," tshawntrusst told Complex over email. "I wasn't involved with anyone like the girl portrayed in the song... I found the beat, I liked the beat, and I wanted to build a story. For something I created from nothing to become loved is amazing. I had no idea who A-Trak or Fool's Gold was, but over the months of building this relationship with them for my single, I have a newfound confidence in the song, my own ability, and the places we can all go together. I just met Fool's Gold, but I love Fool's Gold. I might fuck around and get it tatted or something.
