We’ve been keeping a close watch on Ka ever since 2012’s Grief Pedigree and 2013’s The Night’s Gambit showcased his impeccable lyricism and raw talent behind the mic.
This year, it looks like we’re getting new music from the Brownsville native. Earlier today, he gave more reasons to get excited for his upcoming Days With Dr. Yen Lo album with “Day 0.” In the video directed and edited by Dr. Yen Lo (presumably it's him using another alias), the style follows Ka’s previous visuals with a dark theme. He’s sitting front and center, too, delivering sinister rhymes about his days coming up.
If you noticed in the background, Ka has also incorporated scenes from the 1962 film The Manchurian Candidate. The character, Dr. Yen Lo, is based off the movie. Watch the visuals for “Day 0”, and revisit the trailer for Days With Dr. Yen Lo below in case you missed it.
