Percussion enthusiast, Roska, will be making his return to Pinch's Tectonic label later this month with a new EP entitled Hyperion. The three-track set is more akin to straightforward house and techno, than the UK funky he cut his teeth on. But don't let that fool you: he's still all about the drums, and the subtle flourishes he applies to the drums on this EP are a nice call-back to that era. With UK funky threatening to make a revival at the moment, it will be interesting to see which way the old guard move. Will they stick to their newfound house and techno guns, or will they join the vanguard championing the new generation's take on the funky sound? Time will tell. In the meantime though, stream Roska's Hyperion EP in full below; it's out on January 26.
