If you missed last night's bassline-dedicated Music Nation show—well, you missed out big time! Aired at midnight on Channel 4 (via Dazed), Northern Bass had fans of the floor-shaking genre of old reliving their Sheridans, Niche, and As It Is TV raving days, which prompted the call-out for a #BasslineRevival on Twitter. In light of the well-documented episode, DJ Q—one of the show's main contributors—digged up an old bassline mix he made years back to help re-light the flame. But will the scene ever have the same bounceit once had?
"There's still actually a lot of bassline happening and there's still lots of die-hard fans of the music," says Q. "Tunes are still being made and played out, it just goes unnoticed because a lot of the original followers have moved on with trends and they're now listening to house. But if the right people are involved and it's run correctly, then there's no reason why there can't be a scene revival."
