Seattle stands to gain quite a bit of exposure in the coming years thanks to an influx of talented acts bubbling from regional notoriety to national attention. Macklemore's ascension has been an example of this potential, but there are no doubt other prominent individuals who are shaping the sound of the Emerald City.

Enter Budo and Hollis, two artists heavily embedded in the scene. The former has spent the better part of his career honing his skills as a producer, though Budo's songwriting skills have noticeably improved, as evidenced by his latest release, The Finger & The Moon. Hollis has played the role as a behind the scenes maven, writing, video directing, and managing throughout the years, while also gaining momentum as one-third of the synth-pop group The Flavr Blue

When Budo and Hollis join forces, it comes as no surprise then that the results are nothing short of impressive. The two previously linked up to produce an exquisite cover of Rhye's "Open," and that chemistry comes through once again on their new record, "Technicolor Love." Busy drums give way to a warm melody, setting the tone for Hollis' innocent vocals and equally sweet words of comfort. "I'll use both my hands and all my senses/To understand the depth of where this goes," she sings. The collaboration stands as a special musical gesture from the two, who view "Technicolor Love" as a representation of life's one pure feeling.

"Love is everything. We divert and distract ourselves from it’s strength with admirable resolve, but at the end of it all, Love is just about the most powerful force on the planet," Budo explains. "We, Hollis and Budo, are two dear friends working out of the top left corner of America. We joined to make this piece of music out of a mutual respect for one another’s talents, and are immensely proud of its shape."
