Probably like the rest of the underground-to-mainstream dance loving universe, you've likely experienced a sudden desire to once-again champion the moombahton genre. Thankfully, it's important to state, once again, that moombahton did not die, and with the release of (the now available for purchase) DJ Tombs' The Moombahton Roof Vol. 1 EP from Latino Resiste Records, three of the key newer producers keeping the genre "alive" are spotlighted. In six tracks the Bogota, Colombia-based Tombs joins with the likes of Washington, DC's rising moombahtonista (and 1/2 of "borracho" duo Locomotive) Los XL as well as Miami, Florida's reigning underground moombah-king Happy Colors for six tracks that dip into classic salsa, champeta, bhangra and electro house vibes for inspiration. LosXL joins for Bollywood-cumbia jam "Rajesh," while Happy Colors gets his moombah-fiesta on with salsa-flavored "La Era del Moombahton."
