While electronic music gets weirder and more diverse as the days go by, house music seems to be maintaining a consistently great output with artists like Gorgon City and The 2 Bears continually raising the bar. Fresh-faced duo, Tough Love—following on from their recent remix of Meghan Trainor's "All About The Bass"—appear determined to add to this growing canon with their latest single, "Closed The Door".

An indirect ode to the sleazy disco days of old, "Closed The Door" takes its cues from the sonic highlights of Studio 54's glory days. A crisp percussive line maintains the tempo while a sturdy and hugely danceable series of mid-range stabs and delicate synths bounce purposefully over the top.

As ever with vocal house, Tough Love have taken care to deploy an authoritative singer to bash out the somewhat tongue-in-cheek rhetoric of the lyrics. It's all a little po-faced, but Tough Love know what they're doing, stopping just short of brash campness and delivering a solid future club classic.
