Back in August, EDM heads on the East Coast were shocked to hear that Insomniac would be throwing BOO!, their first foray into Halloween on this side of the U.S., at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Halloween night. We were shocked that it was even happening, considering the long history of Boo parties in the NYC area, but as September rolled around, tickets were on sale and everything seemed like it was a go... until today.
In a shocking turn of events, Insomniac has announced that BOO! won't be going down at the Barclays at all. Why? They didn't say. Their Facebook post (which you can see below) just says that they are "changing locations and joining forces with Pier of Fear for one massively spooktacular night at Pier 94." Now, tickets purchased for BOO! will be honored at the Pier of Fear, but commenters on Insomniac's Facebook post aren't happy, considering that some spent upwards of $100 for floor GA tickets to BOO! essentially have the same access as those who only spent $40 for Pier of Fear presale tickets. No word from Insomniac on if some of those monies will be refunded, although you can get a full refund if you don't want to attend.
It will also be interesting to see how set times work; in addition to BOO!'s line-up of Knife Party, DJ Snake, Milo & Otis, Tommy Trash, DJ Craze, and Tchami, Pier of Fear already had Adventure Club, Borgeous, and Cazzette lined up.
