Not a week after Taylor Swift pulled an oddly Aphex Twin-y move by accidentally releasing eight seconds of white noise (that ended up hitting the top of the Canadian iTunes chart), David Rees (who hosts Going Deep With David Rees for National Geographic) released Aphex Swift, a mash-up of Taylor Swift songs over Aphex Twin tracks. Surprisingly, it's pretty damn cool. It might be cooler if I actually knew what Taylor Swift songs sound like (I know the first track, "T4ouble," because that "Trouble" song was huge), but even as a non-Swifty, I can appreciate the quirky humor of Aphex Swift. Maybe I'm a sucker for unabashed pop over twisted rhythms. The full project is downloadable, so if you wanted to spend Sunday on some "huh" shit that turns into "wait, this is actually pretty crazy," have at it.
