Earlier this year, Raury dropped the stunning video for his debut track "God's Whisper." The now 18-year-old artist dropped his debut project, Indigo Child, at the end of August and is gearing up to perform as an opening artist at OutKast's "ATLast" festival in Atlanta in September—but he just graduated from high school, so this is only the beginning.
Before signing to Columbia Records this summer, Raury spent years making music. Inspired by everyone from Kid Cudi to André 3000, Bon Iver and more, the East Atlanta-based artist/songwriter/producer is simply trying to start a revolution. We spoke with Raury while he was in town about growing up in East Atlanta, doubting himself and his music, and the making of Indigo Child.
