Makonnen has been the artist to watch these past few weeks. During an interview with MTV News, OVO Sound's newest signee talked about a collaboration that will possibly be even bigger than his "Tuesday" remix with Drake. "Me and Miley Cyrus are friends," he said. "I don’t have her number, but we’re friends. We’re online friends and in-person friends."
They've worked on two songs thus far. The first, produced by Mike WiLL Made It, will appear on Miley's next album and is "almost like a Grammy nomination song." "It’s kind of heartfelt, and almost country," Makonnen added. "Girls are gonna cry over their ex-boyfriends to it, and the same for guys crying over their girl."
Their second song will also be about relationships. As for when the joints will come out, Makonnen said that it's up to the labels. "Whenever RCA gets that goddamn shit out." Hopefully sooner than later.
