Just when you thought Hudson Mohawke had peaked, he goes and smashes everything else out of the park. Again. New release, Chimes has already been featured on the new Macbook Air advert, with the titular track driving just about everyone completely wild with anticipation. With that kind of adulation already being heaped upon it, it should come as no surprise that the young Scot chose a special LA Boiler Room session to launch the EP.

This wasn't your regular, dingy room with hipsters vying for attention behind the decks, mind you. No, HudMo and his band of merry men had something much bigger in mind. With a combined effort from Ray Ban, Boiler Room and Warp (with LuckyMe Studio handling art direction), this party was never going to be run-of-the-mill. Instead, it turned out to be one of the biggest events of the year. Not only did HudMo deliver a storming set full of previously unheard material, but the night also saw special appearances from Busta Rhymes, Eric Wareheim, and Flying Lotus as Captain Murphy.

Traditional Kabuki theatre and samurai displays choreographed by Kaz Matamura accompanied the performances, while large monsters designed by Trish Hunter (responsible for Bjork's "Wunderlust" video) stalked party-goers throughout the warehouse. Watch it below.
