Frank Ocean has spent the last few months working on new music for his second album. His father Calvin Cooksey, however, has apparently spent the last few months scouring Global Grind to find anything written about him and is now reportedly suing hip-hop entrepreneur Russell Simmons for $142 million.

Cooksey hasn't been a part of Ocean's life since the singer was 5 years old, but insists in his libel suit that Simmon’s site, Global Grind, has damaged his name and career by unjustly describing him as a "deadbeat dad." Cooksey is a self-described, singer, writer, and inventor and is suing for loss of future income.

In December 2012, Ocean took to Twitter to inform fans that Cooksey had attempted to sue him, as well. “Father wanna sue me for a million,” he wrote in now-deleted tweets. “Like i owe him back child support. weak individual bought me a swiss knife at 6yrs old then dipped on me … i got his DNA though, maybe I inherited some of his karma too.”

Russell has yet to respond to Cooksey's lawsuit, but we'll keep you updated with the details as they come.
