Ahead of this year's Red Bull Culture Clash, defending champs Boy Better Know (Skepta, Shorty, Jammer, Frisco, Solo 45, Lay-Z and DJ Maximum) recently embarked on a pilgrimage to the home of soundclash culture: Kingston, Jamaica. Documented by Red Bull, the crew collaborated with fresh talent and also learned from under some of the originators of Kingston's dancehall scene, from the pioneering U-Roy to veteran soundsystem selector, Ricky Trooper.

Lay-Z reveals in the footage: "We're talking to the legends of this clashing ting, getting the wise words and getting the real essence of clashing and what it means. [We'll] take that back and kill it!" BBK also honed their skills and were set loose in the world-renowned Unruly Clash Wednesdays showcase. Watch the 17-minute long video of the crew's musical journey into the unknown, here.

The Red Bull Culture Clash takes place on October 30, with the likes of Boy Better Know, Rebel Sound, Stone Love and A$AP Mob all battling for this year's crown. For more information on that, head here.
