Last year, TOKiMONSTA releasing her last album Half Shadows via Ultra Music was a surprise. The long-standing EDM empire has been making moves into the trap scene, but TOKiMONSTA, coming from the "beats" scene, and repping outlets like Brainfeeder? It felt like it wouldn't fit, until it did. In 2014, though, she actually has her own label situation going down–this first single, the Anderson Paak-featured "Realla"–is the first release on her Young Art Records label, and is also the first single from her forthcoming DESIDERIUM album, which is due out on September 23. From the way "Realla" pops off, it feels like something you could have heard Frank Ocean or The Weeknd putting out, which is a beautiful thing. Never heard LA's Anderson Paak before, but he kills this track. Definitely wondering what's going to come of this album project, label, and her upcoming fall tour, which you can check out dates for below. Oh, and "Realla" is available on some "pay-what-you-like" shit via Bandcamp.
