When Lil Silva released "Mabel," the title track of his forthcoming EP (out August 5 on True Panther / Good Years), he was letting everyone know that not only is he in his prime production-wise, he can sing. It was a big "oh wow" moment for all of us who have watched him produce for vocalists like Sampha, Rosie Lowe, and BANKS without actually offering his own vocals.

Today he's released "Mabel," a song which only has the beginning line, “You rep for the ends, now it’s time for the ends to let you go," before going classic Lil Silva and crushing shit. This is the best song that's come out this week.
