This was an interesting exercise that deadmau5 went through last night. Seemingly on a whim, he took "four Nexus presets, four Vengeance samples, a brickwall limiter, and thirty minutes" and craft a troll of a big room track. The surprising part? It's possibly the best big room EDM track we've heard in a while. It contains everything that'd make it the red-headed stepchild of "Animals," but it has a certain quality about it. It lacks that "I've heard this so many times already" vibe about it. Something about deadmau5; dude must go on these kinds of excursions every now and again, sharpening his production chops.
