Back in October of 2013, heads were tripping over the turn Zeds Dead's sound took in this collaboration with Major Lazer. We have a feeling that the house turn on this Twin Shadow collaboration "Lost You" might be the bigger shift, but what do we know. Hell, I was amazed when a DAD reader sent over this Reddit thread that uncovered a 30-second clip of said track, which started from a Craiglist "missed connections" ad that had some "Lost You" lyrics in it. Kind of reminds me of the times when Duck Sauce and Chromeo used YouTube to create a sort of maze, and we emailed Zeds Dead to see if they could shed some light on this. They never did, but that's OK, as the full tune is now out there. Definitely an unexpected shift, and we're wondering how fans of Zeds Dead are going to react. We love when heads try new things, and understand that maintaining that balance isn't easy.
EDIT It looks like this is the first preview from Zeds Dead's forthcoming Somewhere Else EP, which is due out on July 1 via Mad Decent. Featured acts on that EP include everyone from Dirtyphonics to Sean Price (which Sean mentioned to Complex back in December), as well as Perry Farrell. Check out that EP after the stream.
