For their latest release, Finland's storied Top Billin record label has partnered with Japanese label and production crew Trekkie Trax. This young group has coalesced around the idea that Japan's troubled club scene can be improved through the creation of good music. As many of you probably don't know, Japan has very restrictive regulations where dancing is only allowed in clubs with a specific license. Despite a concerted effort from the industry there has been no real headway made and the negative effects of this legislation continue to hurt the Japanese club scene.

This is all really too bad. Japan has been involved in the evolution of electronic dance music since the beginning and many current underground producers are heavily influenced by Japanese culture. We need them in this scene. To that end Trekkie Traxx has decided to collaborate on this compilation with Top Billin to showcase underground Japanese club music to the world since it has so little chance to thrive at home.

I've a chance to listen to the compilation and it's amazing. It runs the gamut of most of the major bass music trends. You hear the influences of things like club and trap but with a very melodic and flashy twist. It's exciting. I would definitely recommend checking out the preview mix up on Soundcloud and if you like it it's available now directly from Top Billin or Beatport among other places if you prefer a middle man. Keep an eye out for more releases on Top Billin from this crew with a second compilation in the works as well as an EP from member Carpainter

To promote the release they've been nice enough to provide us with an extra free track exclusively to you, the DAD readers. Probably because you're awesome. It's called "City Ruins" and it's by label head Seimei and member Taimei of this promising Tokyo crew. It's a real scorcher that sounds like a roller coaster ride.
