Bimbo Jones has been out there grinding for the last eight years. The production duo have amassed a huge volume of remixes, with Bimbo Jones versions being done for the likes of Annie Lennox, Usher, Pink, Vanessa Hudgens, Rihanna, Dido, and plenty others. They have a unique vision when it comes to production, but also seem to have loads of fun with it, and as a trio (with vocalist and songwirter Katherine Ellis), they really weave some intriguing material. Lee sat down and hooked us up with this week's Five Tracks, which should get you going for the weekend.

Lazy Rich & Special Features - "Beginning Of The World"

botw cover

The Lazy Rich production is as ever slick and smooth. Great b-line, and sweet vocal melody. I dropped this in Prague last month. TUNE!!!

Chris Lake ft. Jareth - "Helium (Lazy Rich & AFSHeeN Remix)"

helium art

It’s great because it takes elements of tough progressive house with a silky smooth vocal, it has good a real sing-along factor and everywhere I drop it, it goes off!

Qulinez ft. Cara Salimando - "Rising Like The Sun"

RLTS cover

I love this track. It reminds me of some of the trance records that I used to play at The Monastery in Torquay in the late '90s. The vocal hook is lovely and the riff is wicked! "We are reckless – we are young"!!! :) I only wish they made an extra version with a tough beat intro.

Bimbo Jones & Beverley Knight - "I Found Out"

IFO cover

Marc & I invited the lovely Beverley Knight to our London HQ for a writing session and our famous Bimbo Jones lunch. Marc & I started by making a backing track from scratch taking inspiration from Whitney Houston's million dollar bill. We then wrote the topline with Beverley. I remember asking Beverley to try out some different ad libs and harmonies. Her gospel vocal tone is AMAZING!!! It was such good fun. Once we had all written the track Marc and I then decided to make a new version and removed the old backing track to then make a new killer backing around the song we had all written. Thus a track is born.

Afrojack vs. 30 Seconds To Mars - "Do Or Die"

DODr cover

This is a great example of how great songs can be taken to a new level, which is what we do with our Bimbo Jones remixes. I love the topline the band wrote. Great melody and feel good factor. The vocals are amazing! Afrojack sprinkles his magic and beats for clubland and dance music festivals worldwide.
