Young Thug performed at the Fader Fort during SXSW, and prior to getting on stage, he gave an interview that addressed some of the more recent events that are going on. One of the things Thug spoke on is his current label status. "Rich Gang," Thug said, adding that while he is grateful for the help Gucci Mane has given him to launch his career, he is no longer signed to Brick Squad. This contradicts a previous report by Billboard magazine that Thug was currently signed to Atlantic Records under the Brick Squad imprint.

Thug talked about hearing Nicki Minaj rapping over his song, saying that he "could have died." He also talked about his recent arrest, saying that police were harrassing him and that he would have never done "donuts" with new rims. Thug is currently prepping for his upcoming collaborative project with Rich Homie Quan.
