There are many events in rap history that are either unknown or forgotten, from album releases to deaths to random ass events most of us can't even recall. As an attempt to remember those moments, Complex will share an event that helped shape hip-hop in a sometimes minor, sometimes major way. Join us as we look back on This Day in Rap History.

February 6, 2003

50 Cent created a major buzz before his Shady/Aftermath deal with "How To Rob" in 1999. But when he dropped Get Rich Or Die Tryin' in 2003, he shook the game up in a serious way.  50 dropped four singles off Get Rich Or Die Tryin' , three of which hit No. 1 on the charts; "In Da Club", "21 Questions", and "P.I.M.P." Meanwhile, album cuts like "Many Men (Wish Death)" and "What Up Gangsta" remain fan favorites. Say what you want about 50 Cent chilling with Meryl Streep or selling headphones, but there's absolutely no denying he unleashed an absolute classic in 2003.
