It's been nearly a decade since Eminem and his Detroit rap collective D12 released their last album, D12 World. That core six-man lineup looks a little different in 2014—with the departures of Bizarre and Mr. Porter, as well as the passing of Proof in 2006, who was shot and killed in Detroit. Still, it appears that the group will be carrying on, despite these changes. D12 have reportedly been working on new material.

According to the Detroit Free Press, Mark Bass has been mixing new music from the group, and three of those songs include appearances from Eminem. The connection between Em and Mark Bass and his brother Jeff—professionally known as the Bass Brothers—goes all the way back to the early '90s. The Bass Brothers signed the Detroit rapper to F.B.T. Productions in 1992 and recorded his debut project Infinite in 1996. Eminem and the Bass Brothers would go on to have a successful run together throughout the next decade before the rapper decided to go in another creative direction following Relapse in 2009.
