Whenever people speak on dance music (or EDM) (or EMC) (or whatever the hell we're supposed to be calling it these days) attacking the mainstream, you have to look at a few avenues: sure, popular EDM tracks playing on the radio is easy. Are these bits impacting movie and TV scores/soundtracks? Definitely. Are you hearing tunes on TV ads? All the time. But when it's time for awards season, is there a proper representation of dance music out there? It's back and forth. Last year, Skrillex was on a super hype, sweeping the Grammys for the second year in a row. With Skrillex out of the way, this weekend's 56th Annual Grammy Awards is sure to be an interesting affair. You already know that Daft Punk is performing, and should be having an interesting showing, but did you see how many awards Random Access Memories is up for? And with the likes of Disclosure, Duke Dumont, Photek, and Zedd all vying for awards, we can't be mad at who's on the docket. Just so you're all clear, we wanted to round up all of the electronic music nominees for this year's Grammy awards, just so you know who to be routing for on Sunday.
