Lauryn Hill's "Ex-Factor" was the second single off The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill and spent 22 weeks on the Billboard charts. Sampling Wu-Tang Clan's "Can It Be All So Simple," the song is soulful and relaxing and displays a stunning vocal range from Ms. Hill.

She performed "Ex-Factor" on Thanksgiving Eve at Bowery Ballroom in NYC and gave it a very different feeling. Backed by her live band, the rendition gets a reggae influence, Ms. Hill's relying on lower notes to convey her message.

The Bowery Ballroom performance was her first since being released from prison. She will be performing tonight in Boston, with concerts in Red Bank, New Jersey, and Huntington and Port Chester, New York to follow.
