Disclosure's "Latch" came out over one year ago. The lead single for the duo's debut album, Settle, the video has gone on to have over 25 million views, a staggering figure. However, for Americans, the song might be unfamiliar; it will only be introduced as a single in the United States next month. To build on the success of Settle, Disclosure is releasing a Special Edition which will include new remixes.
One such remix comes from a surprising source: DJ Premier. His flip of "Latch" replaces the stuttering sounds with hard boom-bap drums and enhances the sultry piano keys. The song transforms from an electronic song into a smooth R&B song. And of course, Premier starts the song off with his trademark scratches.
Settle Special Edition will be released December 17.
