Vic Mensa might be buzzing now thanks to release of INNANETAPE, but he has been rapping for a very long time. To prove that, he has released a song called "Children Of The Sun," a song he recorded back in 2010. Vic's flow is more subdued over the soulful Thelonious Martin production than he ordinarily has become, but as he puts it, "Niggas making their music constipated they force shit/I let it flow."

Vic naturally shouts out Kids These Days on the song, as he was a member of the band when he recorded it. He also gives several shout outs to his Save Money collective. Ultimately, "Children Of The Sun" is a stream-of-conscious narrative which shows that even early on in his career, the Chicago native could rap his ass off.
