As if there needed to be any more proof of M.I.A.'s gangster, she tweeted out a picture of a Skype call to wanted WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange during a performance at Terminal 5 in New York City. Assange served as the opening guest speaker for M.I.A., which by the looks of the crowd in the picture ellicited looks of shock, awe and confusion.
M.I.A. and Assange are no strangers to each other, he helped promote her Vicki Leekx mixtape a year ago, and she wrote music for his TV show "The World Tomorrow." Their strange relationship could be likened to a new-age political Notorious B.I.G./Lil Kim or Tupac/Suge Knight in terms of how many controversies they create. Here's hoping that M.I.A. has more tricks up her sleeve as she prepares to drop her new album Matangi this Tuesday.
