Electronic duo MGMT cultivate their image as psychadelic weirdos with almost unwavering commitment, even when they enlist a guy best known for his role in a staunchly realistic series like "The Wire" to be in their video. Actor Michael K. Williams, who used to deal out punishment with a shotgun as Omar in the HBO series, appears in the video for "Cool Song No. 2" to deal out something substantially weirder.

After beginning as sort of an alternate-reality Drive, the video, directed by Bradford Young, gets extremely alternate in its reality by showing Williams giving some sort of crystal/mold infusion to a dude covered in some type of spores. Or something. The point is it's weird. But it's also cool, and the chugging, abrasive and theatrically grandiose song builds on the group's familiar sonic template while heading in a slightly darker direction.

MGMT's self-titled album is out today, and the group has also announced fall tour dates, beginning November 10 in Austin, Tex. Check out the full tour schedule below and watch the video above.
