Legendary producer Scott Storch was robbed in the streets of New York earlier today. The 39-year-old beatsmith, who is in town for this weekend's VMA's, was approached by two men with firearms while he was inside a parked SUV outside of the New York Palace hotel on Madison Ave. The gunmen threatened to kill Storch if he did not give up all of his jewelry and cash.

Law enforcement sources report that the men got away with a briefcase containing $5,000 in cash along with several jewelry pieces worth $100,000. Before fleeing the scene, the armed men also stole the keys to the SUV preventing a pursuit.

Thankfully the criminals never opened fire and shortly afterwards Storch confirmed his saftey via twitter.
