Inner City - "Good Life (Contepella Remix)"

As a producer and purveyor of music, if there's two things that I love more than anything in the world, it's old-school jungle and Detroit techno. A few months back, Kevin Saunderson's team, along with Beatport, hosted a contest to remix their biggest hit, "Good Life." While there were many submissions in the house and techno realm, one artist (Oslo,Norway's Contepella) was crowned the most creative one out of the lot.

As a producer and purveyor of music, if there's two things that I love more than anything in the world, it's old-school jungle and Detroit techno. A few months back, Kevin Saunderson's team, along with Beatport, hosted a contest to remix their biggest hit, "Good Life." While there were many submissions in the house and techno realm, one artist (Oslo, Norway's Contepella) was crowned the most creative one out of the lot.

Here's what Kevin had to say about his choice on the winner (who will now be seeing his remix released on Kevin's KMS imprint):

"I chose this one because it caught me off guard. I didn't expect it to be a combination of breakbeats and drum and bass, which took me back a little. But at the same time, it was a totally different direction that I thought worked. I already had several other mixes that I really liked, but this stood out the most because the vocals work so well with the breaks, and it was the most unique and unexpected version."

Contepella doesn't have much on his SoundCloud, but I'm sure you will be hearing more from him quite soon. Listen to the way that Contepella mixes two worlds (that very much share the same DNA) together, and leave your thoughts below in the comments section.
