Nico Segal, or Donnie Trumpet, played as a part of the Chicago band Kids These Days with Vic Mensa, before members of the group decided to go their separate ways earlier this year. Here, Nico links back up with Vic and with long-time Kids These Days affiliate, Chance The Rapper, for "Zion."
The song itself blends Nico's jazzy trumpet with sing-rapped verses from Chance and Vic, resulting in a smooth record that is certainly reminiscent of the Kids These Days sound, yet clearly reaching for something new and grown. Nico's project, Donnie Trumpet, is due to be released this summer. Watch the talented trio above.
