Earlier this month, Kendrick Lamar and his Black Hippy crew were spotted in the studio with Eminem. Speaking with MTV, Kendrick explained the meeting was an opportunity to gain some wisdom from the Detroit MC.

"Everybody knows Eminem’s penmanship, it’s insane. For the most part, he focused on that as much as possible," Kendrick said. "That was the game that he was giving me and my crew: always stay focused on the craft and not indulge in all the other crazy stuff that comes around."

The Compton rapper also stated that Eminem praised his album efforts for last year's good kid, m.A.A.d. city. "He gave me props on the album. He actually listened to the joint and gave me his feedback on it. It was an amazing experience."
