Recently, the androids talked about wanting people to sample Random Access Memories like they sampled the music they grew up loving. While we're not sure if they were just speaking to electronic music producers, as the music of Daft Punk has been redone by live instrumentalists for some time. From acoustic guitar covers and 8-bit jams to orchestral medleys, Daft Punk's musicality is brilliant and it's always a pleasure to hear other interpretations. We know some people think Daft Punk should never be remixed or covered, but we aren't hearing that noise and we're loving these 10 covers.

Daft Punk - "Get Lucky" (Daughter Cover)

Not Available Interstitial

If you got caught up in all the Random Access Memories-hype, you've definitely heard this cover. Daughter took the original, which is an infectious, up-beat feel-good jam and turned into a somber, wistful number giving a whole new meaning to "Get Lucky." Light some candles and smoke your cigarettes as you stare off into the distance questioning your very existence.

Trinity Orchestra's Daft Punk Medley

Although the vocalist is horrible, the actual musicality of this is amazing. Hearing Daft Punk's music performed with an orchestra is one of my life time goals, and while this isn't perfect, it's certainly a step in the right direction.

ESSENTIAL DAFT PUNK

Daft Punk - "Get Lucky" (Sam Sparro Cover)

Not Available Interstitial

Sam Sparro took "Get Lucky" and put his own spin on it with a decidely more synth-pop feel. The track is more upbeat and more "electronic" than the original, and we'll definitely keep this in rotation for a while.

Daft Punk - "Something About Us" (Twin Sister Cover)

Not Available Interstitial

This rather mellow take on the original ballad is as soothing as ever. Not taking too much artistic license, this Twin Sister cover executes the subtle romance that made the original so great.

Daft Punk - "Get Lucky" (Igor Presnyakov's Acoustic Interpretation)

Not Available Interstitial

Youtube sensation Igor Presnyakov first broke fame in 2007 and has since garnerd over 175,000,000 views. With his take on "Get Lucky," Igor doesn't just twittle his thumbs, but instead demonstrates his guitar virtuosity. Throw in a little singing, and we're swaying and dancing right along with him.

Daft Punk - "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" (Eoin Sinclair Cover)

Not Available Interstitial

"Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" is one of the most iconic Daft Punk songs and as such it's got a ridiculous complexity to it. Eoin Sinclair does a NOTE-FOR-NOTE piano cover and in doing so shows off the true musicality behind the song. Daft Punk isn't everyone's thing, but cover's like this can be great in showing someone who doesn't "get" the robots.

Daft Punk - "Get Lucky" (George Barnett Cover)

Not Available Interstitial

George Barnett, you need a recording contract. Not only does he play every single part, but just think about all the preparation that went into making this and executing it. I could go on, but witness it yourself.

Daft Punk - "Digital Love" (The Royal Concept Cover)

Not Available Interstitial

This Swedish band is already signed to Universal Music and it's no wonder, their talent is evident in this wonderful cover of "Digital Love." The energy and passion shines through and you know if their career never works out, maybe they can be a Daft Punk cover band?

Daft Punk - "Get Lucky" (8-Bit NES Version)

Not Available Interstitial

It only makes sense that we'd have an 8-bit cover on a list of Daft Punk covers right? Additional points for the animated ninja doing MC Hammer moves.

Daft Punk - "Something About Us" (Balance and the Traveling Sounds Cover)

Not Available Interstitial

This cover really takes some artistic liberties with the rapping and non-vocoded vocals, but it's so jazzy and funky that we don't even care. And if we wanted to listen to the exact version, we'd just listen to the original.
