Well isn't that interesting? After the release of his latest album, #willpower, will.i.am told Kiss FM that he did in fact write a song to Arty & Mat Zo's "Rebound," then released it without permission:

“Arty is a dope producer so I wrote this song to Rebound this last year. I got in touch with Arty and showed it to him... but something happened and hopefully we can resolve the issue. It’s sad that it’s turned into a fiasco but hopefully it’s resolved, because I’m a fan of those guys. I contacted them last year and we’re fixing it now.”

Wait a minute. Did will.i.am really just say "It’s sad that it’s turned into a fiasco but hopefully it’s resolved, because I’m a fan of those guys?" Such a fan that he'd admit to recording a song over their original and releasing it - for profit - without giving them proper credit?

As of right now, there are no tweets from Arty or Anjunabeats on the situation, so we can only imagine they're on some kind of media blackout when it comes to this issue, assuming it will be resolved properly. It's insane that this can happen - imagine if Arty or Mat Zo had sampled one of the Black Eyed Peas original tracks and released it on Anjunabeats... would will.i.am not turn it into a fiasco because they were fans?
