Earlier today, Lauryn Hilltook to Tumblr to pen an open letter to her fans. In the letter, she talks about her her tax evasion case and her new deal with Sony Worldwide Entertainment. Here's what she had to say:
It has been reported that I signed a new record deal, and that I did this to pay taxes. Yes, I have recently entered into an agreement with Sony Worldwide Entertainment, to launch a new label, on which my new music will be released. And yes, I am working on new music.

- She says the dollar amount reported for her deal is "only a portion of the overall deal." Billboard reported that she could earn $1 million for recording just five new songs "plus additional money for an entire album's worth of music." So much how is a new Lauryn album worth?
