Swedish big room duo Error404 hit us with the first mix just a short while ago, and today we bring you the second installment in the the "Title Not Found" series. Installment two features chart-toppers like R3hab and Quintino's remix of Tiësto's "Chasing Summers" and "Duckface," the Bassjackers and Kenneth G collaboration, and of course GTA, Digital Lab, and Henrix's Miami anthem, "Hit It!" Along with a few other big tracks, the Swedish duo has also included two of their own originals.
The first is a Shabang Records-released, Beatport-certified "Must Hear Club Hit" "Persistant." Error404's Swedish roots are in full force as the tune's melody combines an Avicii-esque pop sensibility (re: less is more) with a dash of Eric Prydz' classic progressive house stylings. The Prydz influence follows all the way down to the percussion as it gallops along and big room melody before twisting into a dutch big room bassline. Shades of Nicky Romero and Laidback Luke drench this bassline before 8-bit led melodic breakdown ensues and the Swedish sound takes over once again. The tune will be perfect for festival mash-ups and we hope to hear it this summer as headlining DJs drop vocals over this beaut. "F#CK" follows, and this unsigned track continues with the big room sound that the duo has cultivated so far, this time adding in a hard dance kick but still resolutely staying within the house realm, perhaps taking cues from Dutch group Showtek?
The mix clocks at just a tad over 35 minutes so it might be perfect for that morning commute or short ride to the club, but either way you need to hear the mix. Error404 is slowly but surely cultivating their unique sound and the mix is a nice step in that direction.
