An MC's weight used to be measured in bars. It wasn't about his social media presence or a cosign from some media mogul. In the early days, you had to rap. Gimmicks helped, but the rhymes had to be on point.
Such is the focus of Illogic & Blockhead's new song, "Neva Heard," from its forthcoming Capture the Sun album. "We just wanted to do something simple and raw, just to showcase the bars," Illogic says of the song. "We didn't want to be distracting from the spitting. We thought it would be a good introduction to those that have never heard me. It’s a good representation of how I get down on the mic."
The video was directed by Erik Anello and shot by Laura Green. Capture the Sun is out April 16th on Man Bites Dog Records.
