The inner city can wear you down, and this is probably the sonic representation of such despair. Today, Rolling Stone premiered the new single from The White Mandingos, made up of Bad Brains' Darryl Jenifer, Murs and Sacha Jenkins SHR, co-founder of hip-hop magazine Ego Trip.
The song, "The Ghetto is Tryna Kill Me," is a trippy hybrid of trap rap, reggae dub and ska. It plods along smoothly until it breaks down into a torrid rock hybrid. SWAG! SWAG! SWAG!
