Lil Wayne in "Stable" Condition Now, Birdman Addresses Health Rumors

He called up Angie Martinez this afternoon.

"He's doing much better and he's in good shape," Birdman told Hot 97's Angie Martinez this afternoon in regards to Lil Wayne's recent health scare. He was with Wayne at home when the seizure occured late Tuesday night.

Birdman says Wayne had a seizure on Tuesday night and has been in the hospital since then. He also says that all of the rumors stirred up by media sites have no truth to them. He's referring to TMZ's articles on Wayne being read his last rites in an article posted, and immediately deleted, on Friday evening.

"He's been doing much better and he's in good shape—he only had one seizure," Birdman says. When asked about the cause of the seizure, Birdman said: "It's just his work ethic...and how hard he works, how much dedication he gives to music and his fans, and what he's trying to accomplish in life."

Birdman also cleared up any rumors that the seizures were caused by drugs: "It had nothing to do with drugs, no such thing like that." Wayne was advised by doctors to rest and take it one day at a time. He is expected to be discharged from the hospital in the next few days.

TMZ reported this afternoon that Wayne has left the ICU and has been seen walking around the hospital. He is said to be in stable condition.

They're still unsure what immediately caused the seizure, Birdman clarified. You can listen to the entire interview below:
