50 Cent performed "New Day" last night during ESPN's Friday Night Fights. Accompanying Billy Dib, a featherweight fighter on SMS Promotions, 50 took hold of the mic and performed his verses as the walk-out song. While Alicia Keys was not there to sing her portion of the song, Brooklyn's Maino joined 50 and Dib as they walked to the ring.
Prior to the match, 50 went to ESPN's headquarters to talk about his interest in boxing and how he got involved in the business.
Ultimately, 50's plan to serve as motivation backfired, as Dib lost the match and the IBF Featherweight Title to Evgeny Gradovich. With the loss, Dib falls to 35-2 all time.
