Red Bull: it ain't just an energy drink.

Red Bull's Red Bull Music Academy is probably one of the best institutions for up-and-coming producers to mingle with artists from within the scene, gaining knowledge and tools for their own advancement in this industry. With the RBMA comes special parties, workshops, and the mighty Culture Clash, and in 2013, the Red Bull Music Academy is making a stop in New York City from April 28 to May 31.

The month-long NYC RBMA has a number of huge features, including:

12 Years of DFA: Too Old To Be New, Too New To Be Classic, May 25 at Grand Prospect Hall in Brooklyn
Featuring James Murphy and over 15 live acts and DJs spanning the history of DFA
Brian Eno's 77 Million Paintings, May 6 at Café Rouge (East Coast Debut)
Brian Eno brings his acclaimed audio-visual installation to NYC all month and will give an “Illustrated Talk” on May 6, outlining the creative processes that have driven his work
Drone Activity in Progress, May 2 at Knockdown Center in Queens
Stephen O’Malley of Sunn O))) (performing solo as SOMA and in his duo project KTL), Prurient, Alan Licht, Oren Ambarchi, and Body/Head (Kim Gordon with Bill Nace). Visuals courtesy of the creative minds behind Nuit Blanche.
United States of Bass, May 3 at Santos Party House
Afrika Bambaataa, Egyptian Lover, DJ Assault, DJ Spinn and DJ Rashad, Big Freedia, Scottie B, DJ Magic Mike, DJ Funk, Drop The Lime and Salva
Red Bull Music Academy Culture Clash, May 9 at Roseland Ballroom: the city’s first-ever cross-genre sound clash.
Hip Hop vs Reggae vs Modern Latin vs Electronic Dance Music
Federation Sound; Fool’s Gold Records headed up by A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs; Young Guru and Just Blaze, and Que Bajo?!

Oddly enough, that's just the tip of the iceberg. Throughout the month, events will be featuring the likes of Ryuichi Sakamoto, Masters At Work, Giorgio Moroder (with his first ever live DJ set), Nile Rodgers, Four Tet, Skream and Mala, Young Chop and DJ Mustard, Erykah Badu, and others will be announced in the very near future.

For more information, head over to, and be on the lookout for tickets, which should be going on sale on March 4 via Ticketweb.
