J Dilla - "King (Sinistarr Remix)"

Seven years ago, the world of music lost one of the most talented producers ever to grace a sampler. James "J Dilla" Yancey passed away at 32 years young and left a legacy of impactful productions that many hip-hop producers and beatmakers still feel were too advanced for today's sound (and even getting props from Daft Punk for his use of their tracks).

Seven years ago, the world of music lost one of the most talented producers ever to grace a sampler. "King" was one of the tracks featured on Jay $tay Paid, the Pete Rock-compiled posthumous album from 2009 that featured instrumentals and tracks that a multitude of MCs dropped rhymes on. Producer Sinistarr hails from Detroit, Dilla's hometown, and was a fan of his productions. His remix of "King" is a fitting drum & bass tribute to the fallen beatsmith, and we ask all of you, on Dilla's day of birth, to pay tribute by blasting this out of any speaker within the vacinity.

Rest in power, Dilla.
