Thank you, Natasha Kmeto; you encompass a couple of things we ask for in the electronic music scene. One of the obvious is that, yes, you're a woman, and electronic music needs more women out there doing it, both on the vocals as well as on the beats (and you excel at both). We also need more soul within electronic music, and you bring the soul in spades. Yes, we've heard your Dirty Mind Melt EP that came out this week, and we're in awe. There's just something about those leftfield soundscapes that you build then add vocals to. Mixing technology with humanity really speaks to us androids. Again, thank you.

We also want to thank you for contributing to our Five Tracks series; it's not every day that we find people who can slide easily from Reprazent's classic New Forms album into some Georgia Anne Muldrow, then come up for air with one of the best Daft Punk singles, ever. If you're as intrigued by Natasha Kmeto as we are, you need to first check out her influential Five Tracks, give "Contranym" a spin, then grab that EP and see where all of these dots connect.

Bjork - "Hyper Ballad"

bjork hyperballad

This is a perfect song and I never get tired of it. Beautiful, expressive, intense. Bjork is always an inspiration.

Daft Punk - "Revolution 909"

daft punk revolution 909

Being a young kid in Sacramento when this came out, this was one of the first times I had heard this kind of house music.  One of my older brother's friends lived in SF and would hook us up with the cool electronic music. This track hits so hard. Homework is legend in my home.

Flying Lotus - "Tea Leaf Dancers"

flying lotus reset

This was the first Flying Lotus track I'd ever heard. It changed how I listened to hip-hop forever. Amazing track.

Roni Size / Reprazent - "Heroes"

reprazent new forms

This was some of the first drum & bass I'd ever heard.  Again, I was far too young to go to clubs when this came out, but listening to it made me feel like I was in the future or something.  Love the vocals.

Georgia Anne Muldrow - "Wrong Way"

gam olesi

This song convinced me to start making beats and producing which lead me down this whole path.  Such an amazing talent and this is my favorite track of hers.
