Buzz Trillington is the HOMIE. I was in a random casino in upstate NY. He came to snag me and allowed me to play a set with him in Buffalo. I went from being stuck in the middle of the tundra while my parents saw an Earth Wind and Fire concert to having a genuinely fun evening and making an everlasting friendship. But like many smaller towns, this scene lacks community. A large influx of talented producers and DJs move from there to bigger cities like Brooklyn or Philly, and they're all SUCH good hearted people. The scene isn't as good as the people of upstate New York is. Not even close.
Buzz grew up on rap and frequented the club scene in Toronto. Where we're used to each major hub having its own individual scene (New York and Philly are both less than an hour away), people will travel from as far as Rochester (and beyond, I'm sure) and SKIP Buffalo to try to get involved with a city that has their hand on the pulse of music. Trap is the perfect platform to mesh these club and hip-hop styles, and Buzz Trillington somehow translates both while creating his own style. His musical selections all seem to follow a few simple rules… ratchet bass music with an underlying hood twinge. He pulls this off perfectly.
