People have wondered for the past 10 years when Black Thought would drop solo material. For a while, the Roots frontman responded with a "wait-and-see" approach. In the early 2000s, Thought almost released a solo album -- titled Masterpiece Theatre -- before it was lumped into The Roots' 2002 album, Phrenology.

It seems like the wait is almost over. In the above video, Thought says his forthcoming project, The Talented Mr. Trotter, will be a blues record. He's been writing with Raheem Devaughn and will work soon with Jim James (My Morning Jacket) and Babatunde Adebimpe (TV on the Radio). Sounds intriguing.
