Imagine, if you will, the number of songs sold on iTunes since its launch in 2003. OK, now is that amount at all close to 25 billion? If so, congratulations, because Apple just announced that it has officially crossed that monumental sales milestone. Apparently the 25th billion song sale arrived when a German user copped the Goskel Vancin remix of "Monkey Drums" by Chase Buch. As if having that to his name wasn't enough, dude also received a €10,000 iTunes gift card.

The following is a quote from Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services:

“Averaging over 15,000 songs downloaded per minute, the iTunes Store connects music fans with their favorite artists, including global sensations like Adele and Coldplay and new artists like The Lumineers, on a scale we never imagined possible.”
