When it comes to beantown boys Shapes of Light, it truly is quality over quantity. Even with only a handful of releases, the upstart duo has already made a name for themselves with appearances at Insomniac's EDC Orlando 2012 this past fall and having taken part in the prestigious one-off "mau5hax" session during last year's WMC week.

Just a week into 2013, Shapes of Light has proven the big room sound is here to stay, re-invigorating the style taking cues from current big room house beaters like Hardwell, Nicky Romero, and Tommy Trash to churn out their own instrumental original, "Vixen" Shapes of Light combines a hard-hitting beat with a grinding electro bassline and festival-sized melodies that perfectly fit within today's current tastes. Save for a quick "how y'all feel out there?!" before the second drop, the track is largely instrumental and it's ripe for a bootleg. With the right DJ, this is the kind of track that will could fit seamlessly into any peak time set. And while the big room sound might not be the freshest of sounds (especially for you fest-heads), Shapes of Light manages to step out on their own, showing glimpses of a signature sound.
